Biography

Over a span of nearly a decade, Liz Ladoux (formerly known as Ms Thang) has established a reputation as one of the top female DJs in the United States, playing everything from poolside parties in Las Vegas and luxe nightclubs in London, to exclusive seaside lounges on the Mediterranean, underground after-hours in Los Angeles, and high-end hotel venues in Beijing. She’s also set the tone at events for The Chainsmokers, Quest Love, and Tiesto.

In 2004 Liz purchased her first pair of turntables and dedicated herself to learning the basics of the craft. She quickly attracted the attention of several promoters and event planners and a calendar filled with bookings and residencies soon followed, her name becoming synonymous with style, seamless mixes, and a surprising versatility. While distinguishing herself as a musical taste maker, Liz became something of a media darling in her hometown, Boston, receiving such accolades as Improper Bostonian’s “Best DJ” in 2008, dubbed urban culture and fashion innovators Karmaloop’s “Chick of the Month” in 2009, a feature and cover for Stuff at Night’s inaugural “Sexiest” issue in 2010, selected as one of Boston Globe’s “25 Most Stylish Bostonians in 2010, as well as a cover and feature in Boston Globe’s “G Style” in 2011.

Liz’ signature sound is a well rounded blend of old and new, spanning the spectrum of genres. She incorporates everything from Classic New York and Chicago House, Future House, Hip Hop, EDM, Nu Disco and Old Disco, Techno from Detroit and Berlin, 80’s Pop, Sexy Ibiza-esque Lounge, and Funk, Soul, and Motown into her sets, depending on what the event calls for. She focuses on reading the crowd and setting the appropriate mood, relishing the unique relationship between DJ and Dance Floor.

Working with some of the world’s leading brands, Liz has created aural atmospheres for W Hotels, Maxim Magazine, Jean Paul Gaultier, Bulgari, LVMH, Neiman Marcus, the Toronto International Film Festival, and many more. She is consistently asked to provide the soundtrack for high profile corporate events, industry parties, and fashion shows, while maintaining a busy schedule at various nightclubs, throughout the U.S.A. and internationally.
